Mixed up?!
From Jazz to Pop, from Funk to Hip-hop
Mixed up?! Is one of the music projects the Swing Foundation offers to youth clubs and schools. The workshop is held in the Makosa Youth Centre and is aimed at youth people from 12 -20. Professional musicians Ramon and Rene from “Dive” conduct the workshops. In 8 sessions participants create their own CD, sampling everyday sounds with fragments of traditional music, all under the supervision of Ramon and Rene.
The crowning glory of the workshop is when the participants present their CD to friends and family during a live performance.
During the sessions, the kids explain why they’re following the workshops, their own musical backgrounds, future prospects, experiences and highlights of the workshop.
